Alex was born and raised in New Jersey, minutes from New York City. From high school, he matriculated into an accelerated Doctor of Pharmacy program at the Rutgers Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy, where he graduated summa cum laude. During his time in pharmacy school, he was an avid peer-tutor through the Rho Chi Honor Society, and was a independent instructor for the General Chemistry lab at Rutgers. After this training, he began his medical education at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School as a scholar in the Distinction in Medical Education program. Throughout his time at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, he has continued his passion for pharmacy by working both within a community- and hospital-based pharmacy. Further, as a member of the Distinction in Medical Education program, he has pioneered and developed curricular innovations to enhance the evidence-based medicine, pharmacology, and interprofessional education at his medical school. He received a 268 on Step 1, a 270 on Step 2 CK, and scored over the 95th percentile on all shelf exams, thereby earning his honors in all his clerkships.

Alex appreciates a collaborative and collective approach to learning and teaching medicine, with his dedication to this mindset earning him recognition as a member of his junior Alpha Omega Alpha society and as a fellow of the Gold Humanism Honor Society. At Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, he used his standardized testing strategies and pharmacy background to provide peer-to-peer and formal didactic instruction to his local collegiate community. Interested in Internal Medicine, with a focus on Pulmonary/Critical Care, Alex hopes to attend an academic Internal Medicine residency with an emphasis on medical education. Besides his passion for medicine, Alex enjoys a wide array of interests including culinary arts, art museums, hiking, camping, photography, and rock climbing.
