Andrew is a biosciences major at Rice University and has a certificate in Spanish. He has conducted research using CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing to improve coral heat stress tolerance, helping build a foundation for its use in clinical medicine. At Rice, Andrew serves as a peer academic fellow, where he tutors in organic chemistry, biochemistry, and biology and helps students build successful schedules.
Andrew enjoys breaking down complex scientific concepts into bite-sized, understandable pieces that build student confidence. He worked full time while studying for the MCAT, so he understands the challenges of balancing life and academics.
