Bright is originally from Benin City, Nigeria. He moved to the United States in 2012 to further his education. Prior to coming to the States, he tutored in Nigeria and Ghana for a combination of 6 years. For a year, he ran his own tutoring firm that helped prepare high school seniors for the Nigerian equivalent of the SAT/ACT. He did his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University, Hawaii.

He graduated magna cum laude with a degree in biochemistry, minoring in biology. While at BYU-Hawaii, he received multiple awards for his academic excellence, including two from the American Chemical Society for his excellence in biochemistry and general chemistry. Following his undergraduate studies, he obtained his medical degree from Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine (LUCOM). While at LUCOM, he served as a student mentor; he also served as a member of the student curriculum committee representative where he assisted in refining the curriculum of his medical school.

He was inducted into the sigma sigma phi honor society, which is the osteopathic equivalent of alpha omega alpha of allopathic medical schools.  He excelled on all his clinical rotations receiving honors in almost all of them.

Bright graduated in the top 11% of his medical school class and matched into his first-choice residency program, Baylor Scott & White Medical Center, Temple, TX, in internal medicine. He is working towards pursuing a cardiology fellowship.

He is passionate about teaching, mentoring and international medical missions. On his spare time, he loves to play soccer and ping pong, watch TV shows with his wife of 7 years, and playing with his two cute kids.

Fun Fact

Bright started his first business at the age of 16. He owned a fish pond where he raised catfish that he sold to restaurants and hotels.
