David was born and raised in Fresno, California. He attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah and received his degree in Physiology and Developmental Biology. During his time there, he worked as a teaching assistant for upper division physiology courses and also served as a peer mentor. He also participated actively in research of Osteoarthritis, receiving grants and showcasing posters at several national presentations. After graduating, he worked as an ophthalmic technician before matriculating to the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine.

In medical school, he continued to teach and mentor both through the Sigma Sigma Phi fraternity and as a Biochemistry and Pathology tutor for first and second year medical students. He received a 253 on Step 1, a 768 on Level 1, a 880 on Level 2, and in the 90th-100th percentiles on all of his shelf exams. He also received honors in multiple clinical rotations. He is very passionate about teaching, mentoring, and aiding other students in achieving their desired scores and ultimately their desired medical specialties.

He is currently a fourth year medical student and recently matched into the Internal Medicine Residency program at Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia. Upon completion of residency, he has an interest in pursuing a fellowship in either Infectious Disease or Hematology/Oncology. In his spare time, he enjoys running, board games, cooking, and walking dogs at the local Humane Society in Phoenix.
