Edith Julieta "Julie" Sarmiento Ponce PhD

Julie is a neuroscientist, educator, and founder of an educational startup dedicated to making artificial intelligence accessible for all-especially neurodivergent individuals. Originally from Mexico City, she holds a bachelor's degree in biology from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), where she focused on dolphin communication. She then earned her master's degree in marine mammal science from the University of St. Andrews followed by her PhD in animal communication and neuroscience from the University of Cambridge.

A passionate teacher and mentor, Julie has led over 100 workshops on soft skills like negotiation, emotional intelligence, and conflict resolution. As a late-diagnosed neurodivergent individual with ADHD and PTSD, she brings deep empathy and lived experience to her work. Through coaching and teaching, she helps individuals and institutions use AI tools confidently and inclusively, centering accessibility, healing, and purpose.

Fun Fact

During her PhD, Julie became a professional photographer. She had the opportunity to photograph Professor Stephen Hawking's final public speech.
