Dr. John started immersing herself into medicine during middle school. She has always been academically talented, placing in the top one percent of her high school class and receiving numerous scholarships to college and medical school, while also participating heavily in research, community service, and leadership. She has over 25 publications and over 60 poster presentations. Additionally, she has been interviewed by top platforms such as Medscape for her research in gastroenterology, dermatology, ophthalmology, infectious disease, hematology/ oncology, hepatology, and pharmacology. Dr. John has received numerous accolades during her medical career including AGA's Top 25 Gastroenterology Fellows and Early Career Investigator Winner as well as the ACG Presidential Award, among others. Furthermore, she has served as a chief fellow, helped coordinate and lead interviews for the GI program, participated in interviews for residency candidates, and served on the admissions board in medical school.

Dr. John can speak four languages, including a made up one that her and her sister speak fluently to each other, and play three instruments.
