Franklin Blum MD
USMLE Tutor
Franklin is a dermatology resident at UNC, Chapel HIll and scored 260 on the USMLE Step 2. He excels in showing students how to identify knowledge gaps and develop efficient and productive study strategies to address them.
Franklin was born and raised in Asheville, North Carolina. He graduated as a valedictorian from North Carolina State University with a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering. He then attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for medical school, where he graduated as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and taught, mentored, and advised both undergraduate and medical students. He is an accomplished National Institute of Health (NIH) research grant recipient and published author. He also completed a dermatology research fellowship studying medical and surgical management of hidradenitis suppurativa.
Franklin has extensive experience tutoring medical students for their shelf exams, USMLE Step 1, and Step 2 CK. He is passionate about helping students develop a strong knowledge base and empowering them to achieve their academic and professional goals.
Currently, Franklin is a dermatology resident at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, canoeing, pickleball, basketball, and traveling.
