Hrishi grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area before graduating from Williams College with a degree in Biology and History. At Williams, Hrishi was involved in tutoring and peer mentoring programs. After college, he worked as a management consultant helping biopharmaceutical companies create strategies to develop and market new drugs prior to matriculating to the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
Tutoring and education has been a key focus of Hrishi's during medical school. He served as a teaching assistant and peer tutor for several pre-clinical courses, a Senior Tutor for USMLE and shelf exam preparation, and has coordinated Senior Tutoring services for all students. He spent a year between his third and fourth year of medical school as a National Institutes of Health TL1 Scholar completing a translational research project in hematology/oncology. He scored above the >250 on Step 1 and >260 on Step 2 CK and achieved near perfect scores on several shelf exams.
Hrishi is passionate about education and finds helping other students achieve their potential deeply rewarding. He believes with the proper guidance and hard work, any medical student can achieve their academic goals and have a successful and meaningful career in medicine.
Hrishi is currently a fourth year student at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and is applying to internal medicine residency programs. He is interested in a career in education, academic medicine, and translational research. In his free time, Hrishi enjoys playing golf, walking dogs, and exploring the various cuisine New York City has to offer.
