Jaye attended Texas Lutheran College on a women's basketball scholarship. She was heavily involved in coaching and tutoring at both the high school and undergraduate level helping students achieve their goal to be successful student-athletes. After graduation, Jaye worked at the University of North Texas on a NASA-funded project to research the effects of zero gravity on human physiology.
Jaye attended medical school at the Northeast Ohio Medical University. She completed a 3-year internal medicine residency program followed by a 2-year medical education fellowship in Pittsburgh, PA. She served on the admissions committee for both the medical school and the internal medicine residency. She is board certified in internal medicine.
Internal Medicine
Dr. Hefner is an avid drone aviator. After crashing two drones into trees and bridges along the Charles River, she is now on track for a successful UAS piloting career in disaster response and aerial photography.
