Michael Shu MD

Michael is completing his residency in anesthesiology NYU and scored a 271 on Step 2. He enjoys helping students recognize their strengths and providing the guidance and support they need to reach their full potential.
Michael Shu is from Cincinnati, Ohio, and graduated from Duke University with a bachelor's degree in biology. At Duke, he served as a teaching assistant for several classes and volunteered at local elementary schools tutoring English and math. After graduation, he was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship and spent a year teaching English in Taiwan.
Michael went on to attend the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine where he continued developing his passion for education through the teaching in medical education elective. There, he focused on building effective teaching strategies and tutored fellow medical students in their preclinical coursework.
Michael has experience tutoring a wide range of academic subjects and working with students from diverse backgrounds. He is passionate about helping learners build confidence, develop strong study habits, and achieve their academic goals. He believes that with the right support and encouragement, every student can thrive.
In July, Michael will begin his anesthesiology residency at NYU and hopes to incorporate teaching and mentorship into his future career as a physician. In his free time, he enjoys running, sports, and exploring new restaurants.
