What Does Your MSC Score Mean?
Based on your Med School Competitiveness score, you can see your likelihood of getting into a medical school. With lower scores, you may need to raise your score just for a chance of getting into any school at all. At higher scores, even though your odds of getting accepted level out, you are competing more heavily to get into the top med schools.
If the question ‘how to calculate my MSC’ score has come to mind, you can use our MSC score calculator to make matters easier.
How Was the MSC Score Created?
The MSC Score was created by MedSchoolCoach to provide students an in-depth, data-driven approach to assessing their medical school competitiveness level. The score is compiled based on factors including GPA, MCAT, Ethnicity, Shadowing, Clinical, Research, Leadership and more. The algorithm has been refined with input from over 50,000 applicant data points and is updated on a yearly basis based on admissions trends. Data points include AAMC table 23 and 25, individual medical school acceptance rates and aggravate, anonymized, applicant data from over 15,000 real applications from 2016 to 2019.
