    Abhinav (Abi) Gupta is a medical student at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA and moved to Colorado when he was five. He attended the University of Denver where he double majored in Biology and Anthropology, and minored in Chemistry, Leadership, and Medical Physics. It was in college when he developed a passion for teaching as an organic chemistry lab TA and physics/biology tutor. He graduated from DU with Summa Cum Laude honors.

    He then was accepted to three of the top 40 medical schools in the country. He decided to attend the University of Colorado School of Medicine. During the first two years of medical school, he sought out opportunities to continue teaching and tutoring. He worked with a non-profit company called Xplosive Athletics as a mentor and tutor for high school athletes struggling in school, cadaver anatomy teacher for EMS, nursing, and medical assistant students, a counselor for a summer program bringing high school students from rural parts of Colorado to the medical campus in Aurora, and an advisor for the Advisory College program at the University of Colorado.

    He has been involved in a number of research projects, ranging from mitochondrial dysfunction in pediatric type II diabetes to survival benefits of statin use in head and neck cancer patients. Abi is pursuing a residency in Anesthesiology at Stanford University in 2020, after completing a transitional year at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. His medical interests include: quality of life improvement, creating treatment centered around goals of care, global health, and socially-conscious care. He is passionate about helping students reach their potential, especially in regards to the residency of their choice.

    Outside of medicine, he enjoys hiking, running, volleyball, and climbing.
