Cyrus Attia MD
AdvisorDr. Attia is a dedicated mentor who draws on his unique journey from award-winning dual majors at Dartmouth and U.S. government service to success in Columbia’s premedical and medical programs. He served as class president and student ambassador and gained deep firsthand insight into the medical school admissions process.
Dr. Attia graduated from Dartmouth College with a double major in chemistry and Arabic, where he won multiple awards for his work as a teaching assistant. After graduation, he worked for the United States government for five years before enrolling in Columbia University's post-baccalaureate premedical program and then moving further uptown to the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons (VP&S), where he obtained his medical degree.
During his time at VP&S, Dr. Attia served as the president of his medical school class and as a student ambassador to the admissions committee, gaining direct experience with the medical school admissions process both as a nontraditional applicant and as a committee participant. He currently works as a clinical leader in digital health, helping companies build innovative tools to improve healthcare.

Dr. Attia loves to travel and was fortunate to complete one of his electives in Chiang Mai, Thailand. It was an amazing opportunity to see the ways in which medicine crosses borders and cultures. Plus, Thailand is a beautiful country to visit!
