Daniel Smith
Writing AdvisorDaniel has over a decade of experience advising students on the graduate school admissions process and assisting with personal statements. He has a knack for helping students tell their unique stories in ways that appeal to admissions committees. Daniel graduated from San Francisco State University (undergraduate) and Northeastern University (graduate).
Originally from Minnesota, Daniel Smith lived and worked in the San Francisco Bay area for many years before moving to the mountains near Asheville, North Carolina. After teaching English Composition at the university level for several years, he became director of a McNair Scholars program, which is an academic program designed to assist underrepresented students in preparing for and gaining admission to graduate school. Daniel has over a decade of experience advising students on the graduate school admissions process and assisting them with personal statements. He holds a BA in Creative Writing, an MA in English Composition, and an EdD in Higher Education Administration.
