Emily Singer MD
AdvisorDr. Singer works with a passion from her own experience as an applicant, reapplicant, and member of the medical school admissions committee at UCLA to help candidates successfully navigate the application process and matriculate into medical school.
Dr. Emily Singer is an original member of ProspectiveDoctor, who is passionate about advocating for students interested in pursuing careers in medicine. She graduated from Stanford University with majors in Economics and Russian Language and Literature. Between her undergraduate career and medical school she worked as an analyst in health policy consulting and in product development for a pharmaceutical startup while completing premedical requirements through UC Berkeley.
As a nontraditional applicant, and initially unfamiliar with the application process, Dr. Singer's first application to medical school was unsuccessful. She asked MedSchoolCoach to help with her second application, and successfully matriculated into UCLA, where she became active in medical admissions as part of the admissions committee for three years and in her role growing ProspectiveDoctor, a resource of information for premedical students and applicants. She engaged in outcomes research, and coauthored multiple peer-reviewed publications during her career as a medical student, and continues to publish papers in outcomes and present at national meetings.
Dr. Singer discovered her passion for surgery during clinical rotations, and matched into her top choice surgical residency program at The Ohio State University. She is pursuing a career in minimally invasive surgery and is building her skill set in robotic surgery. She continues to successfully help applicants matriculate into medical school and surgery residency in her role as a MedSchoolCoach advisor. Her passion for admissions consulting developed out of her own experience, and she looks forward to helping you as an advisor and an advocate.
