James Reed currently attends Stanford University, where he is majoring in biology with a concentration in biochemistry and biophysics, and a minor in symbolic systems on the neuroscience track. He has worked as a chemistry tutor for other undergraduates for three years at the Center for Teaching and Learning at Stanford. James also works as a teaching assistant for biology courses and particularly enjoys working with students from non-science backgrounds. He has also worked in a lab for several years doing research at the intersection of cellular neuroscience, stem cell biology, and cancer biology studying the development of pediatric brain tumors and their precursors. In helping students prepare for the MCAT, James emphasizes conceptual understanding and being persistent in learning from mistakes.
