Dr. Voytas graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in biology from Duke University, where he ran a tutoring and mentoring program for underprivileged local students. He then returned to his hometown of St. Louis to attend medical school at Washington University, playing a significant role in guiding prospective applicants. Following his studies, he completed a pediatrics residency at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, which laid the foundation for his enduring commitment to child healthcare.

Embarking on a long career at a private practice near Portland, Oregon, Dr. Voytas distinguished himself as a leader in the field. Over a 15-year tenure, he served as the chair of pediatrics at Peacehealth Southwest Medical Center and remained deeply passionate about mentoring premedical students, medical students, and residents on their paths in medicine. Additionally, his popular parenting book and blog have extended his influence to a nationwide audience.

    Fun Fact
Dr. Voytas is crazy about all things outdoors: hiking, climbing, and backpacking through the Pacific Northwest with his wife (also a pediatrician!) and two children.
