Marley Bonacquist-Currin PhD
Research MentorMarley is a PhD candidate at Cornell University. She has been a mentor and educator since 2019, working with students to summon their inner scientist through research and practice. She has taught environmental-science-focused classes and helped students develop research across the field, from volcanology to agriculture.
Marley Bonacquist-Currin graduated magna cum laude from Siena College in 2018 with her bachelor’s degree in economics and a minor in environmental studies. During her undergraduate studies, she studied ecology, climate change, and agriculture in Sólheimar, Iceland.
After graduating, Marley took her RYT-200 to become a certified Bhakti yoga instructor. From there, she moved to Ithaca, New York, to complete her master’s degree in applied economics and management at Cornell University, with a focus on environmental, energy, and resource economics.
With more to learn and research, Marley began her PhD in natural resources and the environment at Cornell, with a focus on the human dimensions of conservation. She will be completing her doctorate in August, and is very excited to help others on their research journeys.
Fun Fact
Marley lives on an organic farm where she helps raise sheep, chickens, and turkeys, and grow lots of veggies! When not conducting research, she is working on the farm, teaching yoga, and taking dance classes.
