Naya-Joi Martin
Writing AdvisorNaya-Joi has admissions experience at both Williams College and Emory University coupled with over five years of coaching and development experience for clients ranging from undergraduate prospective students to professional athletes.
Naya-Joi Martin graduated from Williams College as a QuestBridge Scholar with a BA in Psychology. During her time at Williams, she played basketball, danced, and worked in the Admissions office conducting tours, information sessions, and hosting prospective students!
After college, she began her career in Alumni Relations for her high school, the Ethical Culture Fieldston School in the Bronx, before pursuing her MBA from Emory University, Goizueta Business School.
Sports was always a passion of Naya-Joi's, so after 7 years of interning for the NBA Vegas Summer League, she decided to pursue sports roles during her MBA. After graduating she joined the Atlanta Hawks as Manager, Player Programs. In this role, she was responsible for the player's personal and professional development, on-boarding them to the team, and serving as the daily point of contact for their support system.
Loving off-the-court coaching aspect of this work, she transitioned to higher education and returned to Goizueta Business School as Assistant Director, FT MBA Admissions. Here she helped students decide which MBA program was the best fit, interviewed applicants, sat on the admissions committee, and traveled around the world to host information sessions!
Wanting to do a deeper dive into coaching and development, Naya-Joi moved over to the Graduate Career Management Center working with FT MBAs during their recruiting process - resume reviews, cover letters, mock interviews, job search strategy sessions, career mapping, networking tips, and events.
Naya-Joi is excited to be an advisor for MedSchoolCoach and to continue to helping students as they make important academic and professional decisions! She currently resides in Charlotte, NC.
