She then completed her residency in orthopedic surgery at Duke University, where she engaged in leadership development and mentoring. As a hand surgery fellow at Baylor College of Medicine, Dr. Baumgartner excelled in patient care and surgical innovation. She now practices at Panorama Orthopedics and Spine Center, focusing on optimizing patient care and operational efficiency.

Dr. Baumgartner deferred her medical school acceptance at UCLA to spend a year working at a health clinic in rural Haiti. During that year, she spearheaded programs for school lunch, clean water, and malnutrition using a locally sourced ready-to-use therapeutic food.
