    Shivani Kastuar is currently an Internal Medicine resident at the University of Pennsylvania. She earned her undergraduate degree from NYU in Psychology in 2013, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. During her senior year at NYU, Shivani was inducted into the Psi Chi Honor Society, Order of Omega Honor Society, and was deemed a Presidential Honors Scholar.

    While in medical school, Shivani dedicated much of her time to the student-run free community healthcare clinic, created a student-led global health outreach organization, and formed a medical student evidence-based medicine journal club. She has worked as an Anatomy TA for several years, and has also participated in Mount Sinai’s MedStart Summer Program, where she has taught adolescents about physiology and medicine. In addition to teaching, Shivani has taken part in several mentorship programs in which she has mentored first, second, and third year medical students. She has also dedicated a significant amount of time to spinal cord injury rehabilitation research and research at the Human Rights Clinic at Mount Sinai.

    Aside from her extracurricular activities and research interests, Shivani has excelled academically by receiving an Honors in every clerkship throughout medical school. She was also given the honor of being inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Shivani looks forward to helping students achieve their full potential through interactive and dynamic tutoring sessions tailored specifically to each student’s individual learning style.
